Summary


To deliver an effective and competent level of receptionist and/or clerical support and consistently deliver a “client-focused” service which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.

The job description and person specification are an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.

The job description and person specification may be reviewed on an on-going basis in accordance with the changing needs of the Department and the Organisation

Senior staff (Grade 3) will be required to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising their workload and that of others and in taking decisions and action within clearly defined limits

To prepare orthotic clinic sheets, patient information sheets and orthoses ensuring all are accurate

To provide reception service for patients that is efficient and welcoming

To make appointments for patients to attend the orthotic clinics, also to cancel and re-book clinics as the need arises and arrange their transport when appropriate.

To accurately add, amend and retrieve information on the computerised patient management and orthotic ordering systems

To make prescription charges and issue receipts or note proof of exemption from such charges where appropriate

To order, progress chase, receive and dispatch orthoses
