GCIL. MT/LD/1.25 Personal Assistant for Thomas
Thomas is a kind and warm boy who brings lots of laughter to everyday life. A typical day as Thomas’ PA might include taking him for a walk out of the house to go to the nearby Silverburn shopping centre or simply spending time together. You will need to assist Thomas with his eating as he has difficulties doing this on his own.
Thomas would love to work with someone who has previous experience of working with children and young people with disabilities, as he has cerebral palsy. He also doesn’t communicate verbally but the right person will take the time to get to know him and learn how he communicates in his own way. If you’re a warm-hearted person who is ready to be a positive presence in this loving boy’s life, then please apply today!
This position is for 15 hours per week to be worked on Saturdays and Sundays, and the hourly rate is £14.50. Shift times are negotiable for the right candidate and can vary during school holidays. Thomas lives in the Pollok area of Glasgow, so it would be perfect if you live nearby or are able to get there yourself.
If you are interested in this position, please apply by sending your CV to par@gcil.org.uk with the reference MT/LD/1.25 in the subject line and body of the email. If you have any questions, please contact GCIL on 0141 550 4455.
