We’re looking for a Product Manager who can bring clarity, structure and momentum to our digital development work. You’ll lead an Agile team, shape system design, manage delivery rhythms, and keep development aligned with SLAB’s priorities.
This role blends product management with elements of service ownership and business analysis, so you’ll enjoy plenty of variety, influence and opportunities to improve how our systems are built and how our users experience them.
Key responsibilities include:
leading Agile routines, including sprints, stand-ups and reviews
prioritising product features and maintaining a clear backlog
ensuring user stories, wireframes, and test packs are ready for development
guiding developers to build to specifications and maintaining design consistency
tracking product progress and ensuring work stays within scope
advising on release readiness, go-live support and transition materials
analysing business processes and identifying improvements
maintaining design standards, ensuring compliance with accessibility and quality guidelines
communicating risks, issues and dependencies to stakeholders
driving continuous improvement and liaising with Digital Scotland and other partners.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
experience coaching and leading Agile teams
confidence engaging stakeholders and resolving complex issues
experience across multiple stages of the product lifecycle
analytical skills to assess business processes and UX impacts
ability to define acceptance criteria and support testing
knowledge of accessibility, quality standards and legislation
flexibility to manage competing priorities.
