Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarder to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging the safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods by air, sea, road and rail.
Key responsibilities:
~ Plan and coordinate the most appropriate transport routes, considering cost, transit time, security and the nature of the goods.
~ Negotiate transport rates, contracts and handling costs.
~ Arrange packing, warehousing and final delivery of goods.
~ Prepare and manage shipping, customs and insurance documentation in compliance with regulations.
~ Coordinate with carriers, agents and third-party service providers.
~ Arrange insurance and assist clients with claims when required.
~ Provide consolidation, charter and project freight solutions.
~ Manage urgent, high-value and specialised shipments.
~ Utilise tracking and digital systems to monitor shipments in real time.
Required skills:
~ Previous experience desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
~ Strong I.T. skills
~ Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
~ Strong customer service skills
~ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
~ Organised approach with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively across departments and clients
~ Multilingual desirable
