Are you a visionary Art Teacher (QTS) looking to secure an inspiring new role for January 2026? We are seeking a dedicated creative specialist to join a high-achieving Secondary School in the historic market town of Chorley.

If you are ready to kickstart the new year by fostering a love for design, expression, and technical skill in a school known for its supportive atmosphere and academic ambition, we want to hear from you!

The Role: Leading Artistic Excellence in 2026

Starting in the spring term of January 2026, this role is perfect for a proactive QTS Art Teacher who wants to hit the ground running. Whether you are stepping into a long-term maternity cover or a fixed-term contract, you will be a vital part of a thriving Creative Arts department.

In Chorley, you will work with motivated students, helping them build the confidence to create high-quality work. Your role will be essential in guiding Year 11 students through the final, critical months of their GCSE portfolio preparation while inspiring younger year groups with diverse artistic movements and techniques.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • January Launch: Deliver high-quality, practical Art & Design lessons from the start of the new year across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

  • GCSE Portfolio Support: Provide expert mentorship for Year 11 students, helping them refine their "Personal Responses" and prepare for their final 10-hour practical exams.

  • Technical Mastery: Demonstrate and teach a wide array of skills, including fine art drawing, painting, textiles, and 3D work.

  • Track & Support: Use assessment data to provide clear feedback, ensuring students of all abilities are making measurable progress toward their target grades.

  • Studio Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring laboratory of creativity, adhering to all school health and safety policies.

What We Are Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory, along with a relevant degree in Fine Art, Design, or a related field.

  • Secondary Experience: Proven success teaching the Art & Design curriculum at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) levels.

  • Technical Versatility: A strong portfolio of skills and the ability to inspire student confidence through live demonstrations.

  • Adaptability: The professional maturity to pick up existing schemes of work and deliver them with passion and clarity.

  • Safeguarding: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one promptly).

Why Choose Chorley with Randstad?
  • Highly Competitive Pay: Daily rates from £150 - £230, reflecting your specialist creative skills.

  • January 2026 Start: Secure your position now and enjoy the peace of mind of a confirmed placement for the new year.

  • Great Location: Work in a well-connected Lancashire town with excellent links to Preston, Wigan, and Greater Manchester.

  • Referral Scheme: Earn a £300 bonus for every fellow teacher you refer to us who is successfully placed!
