Our Opportunity
We are looking for ‘the right person for a position to change lives’. This role has been created to support children and families in removing barriers to regular education attendance.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our team of dedicated staff. You will be an experienced mainstream Teaching Assistant with SEND experience and/or have worked in a specialist education setting.
Knowledge of SEN will be essential and you must be able to respond and adapt to the wide ranging needs of our children and young people. You will be required to ensure the safety of our children and young people and facilitate their access to learning by responding to individual needs. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with pupils and their families, and then assess the attainment and progress of our students, in order to help them succeed.
You will be working as part of a team supporting whole class lessons, group work and working one to one with pupils. You will be part of a committed staff team who are motivated every day by improving the life chances of our children and young people. This role will be across two sites where your role will be;
    Working with primary pupils at Sherwood Education who are unable to attend a mainstream setting due to their significant SEMH needs
    Working with primary pupils at the Children’s Hospital SchoolThis role is 0.6FTE (3 days, 22.5 hours per week), term time only. For the right candidate, this role could be combined with the 0.4 Teaching Assistant vacancy that we also have advertised, to create a full time post.What you can expect from us
