Summary
In this role, the successful applicant will provide crucial administrative support to ensure the smooth collection of the Community Infrastructure Levy, Building Safety Levy, and other funding streams. A day-to-day will include preparing liability notices, monitoring payments, processing invoices, and responding to public enquiries. Working closely with colleagues across Planning and Building Control to deliver an excellent service.
We’re looking for someone with a proactive approach and excellent attention to detail who can accurately work to deadlines using different software.
Knowledge of planning, building control, or local government is desirable, but not essential - if you’re willing to learn, we’ll provide training to help you succeed.

The successful applicant will be required to work 22 hours per week. We offer flexibility to work various days/hours with approval, but there is a requirement to be available on a Wednesday. The main work location is the Civic Centre in Chelmsford and there will be the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis following the probationary period.
Interviews are currently scheduled for the 20th & 21st January 2026.
