We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and skilled SEND Officer (Group), working Term Time only. The information below provides more detail about the role.

Purposes:
- To prepare and chair Education Health Care Plan reviews and to set EHCP outcomes with local ASL teams and curriculum staff
- To prepare and submit Appendix 2 to the Local Authority for assessment of EHCP as necessary.
- To ensure that changes to students' EHCPs are communicated to the appropriate staff and documentation is updated.
- To build links with local schools and organise students transition activities by attending in-school transition reviews, EHCPs and other meetings to gather information about the needs of students coming to SHCG colleges.
- To gather information on students from designated schools who will be attending other colleges within the group and share this information effectively with the named lead person
- To undertake support meetings with new and existing students and ensure that the information on their support needs is shared in an effective way with those involved in the student's education.
- Undertake any job-related activities as requested appropriate to the grading of the post to meet the changing needs of the College.
- To work to promote and apply the College's safeguarding and behaviour management policy and practices.
Skills/Experience:
- Relevant experience in an administrative role
- To be sensitive to the learning needs of students with additional learning support needs, being able to communicate with them effectively
- Experience of working in a school/college environment
- Experience with Exam Access Arrangements processes in an FE contex
- Excellent IT skills
Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
- Educated to Level 3 (A-Level or equivalent).

- Be able to work effectively within a complex environment to short timescales
- Be confident working independently and organising own work priorities to fit department and wider business need
