Summary
An exciting and unique short-term opportunity has arisen for a highly Specialist Nurse to join our Colorectal team at the Community Diagnostic Centre, Hollinswood House. This is a fixed-term role covering maternity leave, offering the chance to make a real difference in patient care while developing your own skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. The post holder will:
• Provide a specialist nursing service to patients on the 62-day suspected colorectal cancer pathway, supporting timely diagnosis and treatment in line with national standards.
• Act as an autonomous practitioner, proactively managing a caseload of patients, providing expert advice, and advocating across care settings and multidisciplinary teams.
• Play a key role in supporting new ways of working and ensuring the patient journey is as smooth and effective as possible.

We are looking for an experienced Nurse, confident in higher-level practice, who is motivated to hit the ground running and seize this short-term but career-enhancing opportunity.
• Work as an autonomous practitioner assessing potentially highly complex patients, planning, implementing and reviewing care within the out-patient setting.
• Managing the urgent cancer pathway nurse-led clinics including the organisation of investigations and interventions and results as required.
• To be an independent practitioner supporting nurse-led clinics as part of the 62-day patient pathway
• To liaise with other teams and dependents to ensure that patient progresses through the pathway as per the Urgent Cancer Pathway Operating Procedure.
• Work within the NMC code.
• To ensure that all local and national HR policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to
Participating in the TRIOMIC trial you will join the team of experience nurses delivering the urgent cancer pathway.
