Summary

Learning and Development Specialist

Permanent, Full-time – 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary – £33,057 per annum
Location – Meadowbank Sports Centre (Hybrid working)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our team, help us grow and empower our people. In this role, you’ll shape the skills and capabilities of our teams so they can deliver exceptional experiences for our customers and achieve organisational goals.



Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning programmes, including induction, workshops, and e-learning content.

- Evaluate learning impact using feedback, data, and metrics, and report on outcomes.

- Manage our digital learning platforms (LMS, intranet, Teams) and maintain accurate records.

- Promote a positive learning culture through innovative approaches and employee engagement.

- Collaborate with managers to embed learning into everyday practice and support talent development.

- Continuously review and improve learning provision to align with business priorities.



Our ideal candidate will have:

- Associate Membership in Learning and Development (or equivalent qualification).

- At least 2 years’ relevant experience in L&D, or equivalent management experience, preferably in the leisure, charity, or public sector.

- Ability to diagnose learning needs, design and evaluate blended learning solutions, and facilitate training with flexibility to support diverse learning styles.

- Experience supporting change initiatives and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships and adapt content to diverse audiences.

- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.

- Knowledge of adult learning principles, evaluation methods (e.g., Kirkpatrick model), and current L&D trends.

- Proficiency in using digital tools for LMS administration, training delivery and content creation.

This is a hybrid role, with time split between our Meadowbank head office, home working, and regular travel to venues across Edinburgh.
