SEN Teaching and Learning Assistant – Derby
Full Time | Monday to Friday | 08:30am – 3:30pm
EYFS / Year 1 | Start Date: immediately
TeacherActive is proud to be working closely with a welcoming and supportive school in Derby, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching and Learning Assistant (TLA) to join their team after half term.
This full-time role will involve supporting pupils, with a particular focus on children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work alongside experienced teachers to create a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where all children can thrive.
Are you someone who:
• Has a calm, patient and nurturing personality?
• Loves working with younger children and helping them grow in confidence and ability?
• Is passionate about supporting children with additional needs in their early learning journey?
• Can build strong relationships with both pupils and staff?
The role will involve:
• Supporting children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources to suit individual needs
• Helping to manage behaviour positively and effectively
• Encouraging children to be independent learners
• Ensuring a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment at all times
What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an SEN or Early Years setting
• A genuine passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• The ability to work Monday to Friday, 08:40am to 3:30pm
