An exciting opportunity for an ambitious Sous Chef to join a well-established and highly regarded seaside restaurant, set on one of North Cornwall’s most scenic beaches. With breathtaking coastal views and a busy, thriving service, this is an excellent career move for a chef looking to grow within a strong and supportive kitchen team.
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sous Chef who is committed to long-term development. Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you will play a key role in leading service, developing junior chefs, and maintaining high standards throughout the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Senior Chef in the day-to-day running of a busy kitchen
• Take charge of the kitchen in the Senior Chef’s absence
• Oversee daily food preparation and service
• Lead, train, and mentor junior team members
• Ensure all health & safety and food hygiene standards are met
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and positive working environment
Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience in a senior kitchen role (Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous)
• Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
• Calm and effective under pressure
• Flexible and adaptable approach to shift patterns
• Strong team player with a desire to develop further
Personal Qualities:
• Natural leadership skills
• A genuine passion for quality, locally sourced food
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Flexible and open to change
This is a permanent position, ideally suited to candidates who are available to start February.
