Salary: £32,926 – £41,225 DOE (inclusive of shift premiums)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00–15:00 / 15:00–23:00 (weekly rotation, 30-minute paid break daily, 40 hours/week)
About the Production Maintenance Engineer Role
We are looking for an experienced Production Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing team in Sittingbourne, Kent. This permanent role operates on a rotating two-shift schedule, providing variety and the chance to gain experience across all areas of the Injection Moulding and Regrind departments.
You will be responsible for the routine, proactive, and reactive maintenance of production machinery, supporting equipment efficiency and reliability. The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on problem-solving, improving machinery performance, and working as part of a high-performing maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
Machinery Maintenance
Maintain all ancillary equipment and conveyors in Injection Moulding departments.
Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and support continuous production.
Develop and execute a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule.
Monitor equipment performance and maintain detailed maintenance records.
Organise and manage engineering materials, spares, and stock.
Collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to improve processes and machine reliability.
Support general site maintenance and oversee contractors as required.
Health and Safety Compliance
Maintain machinery in accordance with Health & Safety standards.
Carry out regular safety audits and maintain excellent housekeeping.
Use PPE and follow all training and safety procedures.
Report any safety issues promptly to your Manager.
Notify the Production Manager or Operations Manager of equipment issues or downtime.
Ensure full visibility of machine performance and lost time for planning purposes.
Assist in training new employees.
About You and you Engineering Experience
Experience in production machinery maintenance, ideally within injection moulding or manufacturing environments.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to production equipment.
Commitment to Health & Safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or HNC.
Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working as part of a maintenance team.
Knowledge of pneumatic systems.
Awareness of industrial automation.
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
PLC programming on Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley PLC systems.
