Clinical sessions are supervised by one of the Glaucoma Consultants or Associate Specialist and offer a wide range of glaucoma complex cases, postop management and acute cases. Fellows are also expected to undertake laser sessions (SLT, PIs). Glaucoma theatres are located across two sites and there is a wide range of both traditional filtering surgery as well as MIGS ( i-stent, Preserflo , Hydrus, ELIOS), Paul and Baerveldt aqueous shunt tubes. Fellows will have exposure to a good number of trabeculectomy surgeries by the end of their fellowship as over 140 trabeculectomies are performed in the department every year.
