Summary
Summary of OT Role To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service to schools and students accessing ECASS. To be responsible for developing the role of the OT within ECASS. To support schools to meet the occupational needs of children with SLCN and to identify those with additional motor or developmental needs. To develop clinical expertise within this specialist area, establishing an evidence based clinical pathway and service provision. To provide high quality, evidence based universal and targeted training and intervention packages for schools and school staff within area of clinical specialism. To support schools to develop resources and support packages for families. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. To supervise, appraise and train students and junior staff as required. To contribute to and lead on aspects of planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating ECASS. To contribute to and lead on specified OT service improvements and quality initiatives within the team To work effectively and flexibly within an interdisciplinary framework in a multidisciplinary and multi-agency environment, including working with teachers, SENCOs, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and other professionals To be flexible to the demands of the service in regard to location of work and area of clinical specialis
