A unique opportunity has arisen for a chef with contract catering experience to work at Hairmyres Hospital East Kilbride.

The Role

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

To ensure the provision of a correct meals service to patients and staff including its cooking and presentation.
To carry out all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health & Safety and Personal Hygiene.
To ensure correct materials and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery/equipment immediately.
To ensure company provided uniform is kept clean and tidy and is worn at all times whilst at work. Always wear identification badge.
To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Client and ISS colleagues.
Utilisation of staff, materials and equipment in as efficient manner as possible.
The correct use of the recipe file and assisting in its review and compilation as required.
To assist Catering Management in the provision of direction, guidance and support to all staff within the catering department to ensure they are able to carry out their role effectively.
To assist the Catering Management in the day to day management of the objectives and targets for the catering service as outlined in the business plan.
To attend regular meetings within the Catering Department as required.
To deal with any incidents or complaints speedily and effectively within company procedures.
To maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in line with current legislation and company policies and procedures.
To act at all times in a professional manner.
To attend training as required by the Catering Manager
To carry out other related duties as required in keeping with the grade and purpose of the post
About You

Must be available to work shift that are between 6am and 6pm hours weekend work will be required but enhancements will be paid for these hours
Experience as a Chef is essential
Strong experience working within Catering (essential)
Qualifications required: 7061/7062 or equivalent and Food hygiene CIEH level 2 or equivalent
Previous experience with stock control, food preparation, ordering and staff management.
Excellent communication skills
