Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Governance Professional to support our Board of Trustees with effect from Spring 2026. The post offers an excellent opportunity to work in a strong administrative department in our highly successful academy, which holds good Ofsted status.
The main purpose of the role is to provide a high-quality professional clerking and compliance service in order to support the Board effectively in line with the academy values and ethos. There is also an excellent academy wide support and development programme for all new staff.
Personal Qualities
The successful applicant should have a minimum level of qualifications, including level 2 in Mathematics and English at a minimum C grade [or grade 4] at GCSE.
The candidate should be detail-oriented, hardworking, flexible, have a high level of commitment and able to work in a calm, collaborative manner whilst maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities of the Post Holder
The Governance Professional is responsible for advising the Board on constitutional matters, duties and powers, and will work within the broad current legislative framework. They will secure the continuity of Trustee business and observe confidentiality requirements. The other responsibilities of the postholder will be in accordance with the Governance Professional job description.
Wider Contribution
Full time support staff may also have opportunities to contribute to the extra-curricular programme. This is very wide ranging and can often enable staff to contribute particular skills and interests where they meet academy needs. Applicants should indicate if they have particular interests and this would be discussed at the time of interview.
Remuneration and Working Time
The hours of work required for the role are to be agreed with the Chair on a casual basis, term time only (38 weeks). The salary will be £15 per hour plus an annual leave entitlement.
