Summary
Job PurposeTo provide effective maintenance and engineering support across mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general fabric maintenance.Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical and electrical systems to ensure minimal disruption to office operations.Monitor and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and implement energy efficiency measures.Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.Maintain accurate records of completed work and update asset registers.Liaise with contractors and suppliers for specialist repairs or installations.Support office moves, refurbishments, and minor project works as required.
Skills and QualificationsEssential:
-Recognised qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
-Experience in building maintenance within commercial or office environments.
-Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and plumbing.
-Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
Desirable:
-Experience with BMS systems and energy management.
-Knowledge of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and compliance testing.
-Familiarity with CAFM systems for job tracking.
Personal AttributesProactive and self-motivated.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.Commitment to continuous learning and development.
Working ConditionsShift work may be required (e.g., days/nights or rotating shifts).Participation in an on-call rota (1 in 3).
