Summary

Roles and Responsibilities
• Client Consultation and Strategy:
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs, target audience, and project requirements.
• Analyze existing online presences and market trends to develop comprehensive, tailored web strategies and proposals.
• Present initial design ideas and recommendations to clients, guiding them through the decision-making process.
• Design and Development Oversight:
• Establish and enforce design guidelines, standards, and best practices for the entire team to ensure consistency and quality.
• Lead the creation of visual design elements, including layouts, graphics, animations, and interactive components.
• Develop wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas effectively.
• Ensure all websites meet legal requirements, such as accessibility (WCAG standards) and privacy regulations, and function optimally across various devices and browsers (responsive design).
• Team Leadership and Project Management:
• Oversee and mentor a team of web designers, providing constructive feedback and on-the-job training to enhance their skills.
• Coordinate workflow, manage project timelines, and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other specialists, including front-end developers, back-end developers, copywriters, and marketing teams, to ensure a cohesive final product.
• Testing and Optimization:
• Plan and oversee extensive testing (e.g., functionality, usability, A/B testing) to identify and correct problems before and after a site goes live.
• Utilize data analytics to track website performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to increase traffic and conversion rates.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is crucial.
• Creative and Analytical Thinking: The ability to generate innovative ideas and solve complex design problems using data-driven decisions.
• Leadership and Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and team-leading skills to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Experience: A strong professional portfolio demonstrating a history of successful web projects, often accompanied by a relevant degree and several years of experience in web design.
