Summary

Term Time Only (40 Weeks)

Calderdale College, the leading provider of post‑16 education in Halifax and the surrounding area, is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND professional to join our team. This is a key role within the College, supporting learners with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs), SEND needs, and Additional Learning Support (ALS).

As the operational lead for SEND placement and support, you will work closely with students, parents, curriculum teams, and external partners to ensure that our most vulnerable and disadvantaged learners receive the high‑quality support they need to thrive. You will play a central role in monitoring at‑risk learners, driving positive outcomes, and ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who:

Has substantial experience working within SEND in an FE or similar setting.
Understands the complexities of EHCP processes, legislation, and funding.
Is confident leading meetings, managing staff, and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Is passionate about improving outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners.
Is organised, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed SEND professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with additional needs and who thrives in a collaborative, learner‑focused environment.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promotes the welfare of all learners and expects its staff to share this commitment. Employment at the College is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. If the post falls under the definition of regulated activity it will also be subject to an additional barred list check.

When we shortlist potential candidates, we will inform those who have been shortlisted that online search maybe conducted as part of the due diligence checks. The college will ensure to communicate the lawful basis on which this personal information will be collected.
