Summary
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Supervision
Supervise children and ensure their safety at all times
Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and educational development
Engage children in age-appropriate play and learning activities
Promote positive behavior and model appropriate conduct
Care & Wellbeing
Assist with personal care routines, including toileting, handwashing, and mealtimes
Support children with additional needs as required
Ensure children feel secure, valued, and included
Health, Safety & Safeguarding
Follow safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
Maintain health and safety standards within the setting
Carry out risk assessments and report hazards or concerns
Record and report accidents, incidents, and concerns accurately
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with colleagues and follow guidance from senior staff
Communicate effectively with parents/carers when required
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Environment & Resources
Help prepare and tidy play areas and equipment
Ensure toys and resources are clean, safe, and well maintained
Person Specification
Essential
Genuine interest in working with children
Basic understanding of child development and play
Ability to work as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Desirable
Relevant childcare qualification or willingness to work towards one
Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting
First Aid and Safeguarding training
