This is a full-time position, but job-share/part-time working will also be considered for suitable candidate.

We are seeking to appoint a Careers Advisor / Apprentice Careers Advisor to provide high quality, impartial careers advice for all pupils; to prepare them effectively for further education, employment or training. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people or working in an advisory capacity.

This role will be line managed by the Central Strategic Careers Lead while based across King Edward VII Academy in Kings Lynn (PE30 2QB) and Wayland Academy in Watton (IP25 6BA).

What You’ll Be Doing

- To provide high quality, independent careers advice for all pupils to prepare them effectively for education, employment or training and to work with the Central Strategic Careers Lead to implement a strategy for developing a careers programme for the school that meets all eight of the Gatsby benchmarks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the wider community, particularly businesses, to enhance events and workplace experiences.
- Provide students with valuable insights into local and national labour market trends, ensuring they are well-prepared for future opportunities and manage the work experience programmes in each school.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Advice and Guidance qualification or English to grade C/4 or equivalent or good English skills (Ideally a Level 4 to 6 Diploma in Advice and Guidance or equivalent although this is not required)
- Experience of working with young people (Preferably in an advisory/support position)
- Ability to deal effectively with people, using tact, courtesy and patience

Wayland Academy is an oversubscribed, high-performing secondary school at the heart of Norfolk, known for its positive atmosphere and low staff turnover.
