The West Herts Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service is a specialist team supporting adults with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, acquired brain injury, and complex post‑stroke presentations.
Our MDT includes:
Occupational Therapists
Physiotherapists
Clinical Psychologists
Specialist Nurses
Rehabilitation Assistants
Skilled Administrators
We maintain strong links with local health and social care organisations, voluntary groups, and national networks.
Our base is Harpenden Memorial Hospital, a newly refurbished, bright, and spacious building with:
Gym space for rehabilitation programmes
Individual clinic rooms
Virtual consultation facilities
Staff collaboration areas
Outdoor seating and landscaped grounds
As an Occupational Therapist in our service, you’ll apply your assessment, treatment, and evaluation skills in a variety of settings. Patients are seen in clinic, at home, in community venues, or virtually. You’ll deliver both individual and group programmes, with creativity encouraged in design and approach.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct holistic assessments and develop tailored treatment plans
• Use occupation to enable independence and wellbeing
• Deliver therapy in clinic, homes, workplaces, and community settings
• Provide telephone and virtual sessions where appropriate
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines for integrated care
