Summary

As Head of Inclusion, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the College’s inclusion agenda, overseeing high-quality provision and support for learners with additional needs and those facing barriers to participation, engagement or achievement. This includes learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those accessing alternative and transitional pathways.

You will have responsibility for the Employability and Life Skills (ELS) discrete provision, Inclusive Learning services, and the effective deployment of support staff to ensure equality of access across all curriculum areas. You will also oversee key inclusive programmes, including Project SEARCH supported internships, 14-16 Early College Transfer (ECT), and other forms of alternative provision, ensuring these pathways are high quality, well-integrated and outcome-focused.

Working closely with Curriculum and Quality colleagues, you will enhance the student experience for all learners by supporting staff to develop inclusive and adaptive teaching strategies, strengthening quality assurance, and ensuring inclusive practice is embedded consistently across the College.

You will provide strong leadership to the ELS and Inclusive Learning teams, with direct line management of the ELS Curriculum Area Leader, ECT Manager, two SEND Support Team Leaders, and the SEND Manager. A key aspect of the role is maximising and effectively deploying funding and resources for learners entitled to additional support, ensuring provision is responsive, personalised and impactful.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promotes the welfare of all learners and expects its staff to share this commitment. Employment at the College is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. If the post falls under the definition of regulated activity it will also be subject to an additional barred list check.

When we shortlist potential candidates, we will inform those who have been shortlisted that online search maybe conducted as part of the due diligence checks. The college will ensure to communicate the lawful basis on which this personal information will be collected.
