Ladybridge High School is a warm, friendly and successful school with a clear mission and agreed beliefs that are shared across the school community. We are focused on achieving strong academic outcomes through a rounded education that prepares our learners for life. We are committed to our ‘Trivium’ approach to education, which is summarised on our website here.

The wonderfully diverse population of learners, the emphasis on professional learning for staff and the friendly atmosphere make Ladybridge an interesting and enjoyable place to work. Previous postholders have progressed in their careers and successfully secured new roles within school.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. In school we have a provision for learners who have been removed from all lessons for a fixed amount of time called Managed Remove (MR) as an alternative to suspension. Learners who have been temporarily removed from lessons are placed in a provision called Temporary Remove (TR). The substantive part of this role will be to supervise small groups of learners in MR and TR maintaining high expectations at all times to ensure that learning continues in these provisions.

The successful candidate will also supervise classes during the short-term absences of the teacher. This may be in a classroom or in the Study Hall. The Study Hall involves supervising multiple classes whilst they complete work online in the case of teacher absence. The role involves communicating the work that has been set by the teacher, keeping learners on task and maintaining high standards of behaviour.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with:

  • relevant experience of working with young people in an educational setting
  • high expectations and a commitment to help learners fulfil their potential
  • a strong classroom presence
  • the ability to establish fair, respectful and supportive relationships with learners
  • a high level of verbal and written communication

Interested colleagues should complete an application form, which can be downloaded from the school’s website http://www.ladybridgehigh.co.uk/latest-vacancies/ and submit with a letter of application to outline how your experiences to date prepare you for this role.

Please note that CVs and late applications will not be accepted.

Deadline for application: Thursday 8th January 2026 at 8.00am

Shortlisting: Friday 9th January 2026

Interview date: Tuesday 13th January 2026

Please send completed applications to Miss M Johns, HR & Cover Manager via email to HR@ladybridgehigh.co.uk
