Pension and Reward Co-ordinator
Salary: £32,597 - £35,412
We are looking for the right person to join Salford Council’s busy pensions and reward team to coordinate pensions and employee benefits for the council, schools, and external clients. This role ensures efficient, accurate administration and excellent customer service.
About the Role:
Deliver a people-focused approach, providing empathetic guidance through life events and ensuring customers are at the heart of pension and reward services.
Manage public sector and external pension schemes, ensure compliance with auto-enrolment regulations, and handle tasks such as enrolments, opt-outs, retirements, and benefit calculations.
Administer employee reward options (e.g., salary sacrifice, lifestyle discounts, wellbeing support) and complete pay-related tasks including minimum wage checks and liaison with third-party providers.
Take responsibility for your work, prioritise effectively, share best practice, and contribute to team development and service improvements.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience with public sector pension schemes and UK payroll/pensions legislation (including auto-enrolment, PAYE, NI, and contributions).
Is proficient in digital tools: HR/payroll systems, ideally iTrent, CRM, and Microsoft applications.
Has strong communication skills, written, verbal, and confident in phone, video and in-person interactions.
Has exceptional administration, organisation skills and attention to detail.
Can work independently, use initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Is customer-focused with a proactive and solution focussed approach.
Is reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
