Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow to support the conduct of the PROSPECT Study – Physiological Response to Once-Daily Tacrolimus (LCP-T) – at the Royal Free Hospital.

This is a fully funded research post delivered within the Renal, Nephrology and Renal Transplant Services, working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr Rhys Evans. The post-holder will support delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 research activity in accordance with the study protocol, NIHR and GCP standards.

The study is supported through research funding provided by Chiesi Ltd to the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This funding supports research personnel, materials and delivery of study milestones.

This post is exclusively research-focused with no clinical service commitment.

The PROSPECT Study (Physiological Response to Once-Daily Tacrolimus [LCP-T]) is a multi-phase, observational research programme evaluating pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and immunological responses to once-daily tacrolimus in kidney and liver transplant recipients at the Royal Free Hospital.

Phase 1 includes large-scale metabolomic and biochemical analysis in approximately 600 transplant recipients to characterise drug exposure profiles and identify predictors of variability.

Phase 2 involves detailed sub-study monitoring of 40 transplant patients (20 kidney, 10 liver, 10 control) to explore longitudinal changes in drug exposure, biomarkers and immunological response. The post-holder will assist with recruitment, participant follow-up, data acquisition and sample handling.

This role provides experience in transplant research, specialist assay methodologies and regulated delivery of commercial-supported studies.
