Estates Compliance OfficerContract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)Location: Liverpool, hybrid (minimum 3 days on site per week)Salary: £33,951 - £36,636Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine has won the Times Higher Education 2025 Outstanding Estates Team Award! We’re now expanding our Estates team and looking for a dedicated Estates Compliance Officer to help us maintain a safe and legally compliant campus environment at LSTM.In this role, you’ll support the Estates Team by maintaining accurate health and safety records, coordinating statutory inspections, and ensuring remedial actions are completed promptly. You’ll provide essential administrative support, including raising purchase orders, preparing reports, updating databases, and managing documentation to support compliance activity.You’ll also coordinate and monitor compliance across a range of specialist systems, including fire safety, water and legionella, electrical systems, gas and pressure systems, HVAC and mechanical plant, lifts and lifting equipment, asbestos, and specialist laboratory equipment such as autoclaves.Key responsibilities include:Ensuring estates compliance with health and safety standards, regulations, and statutory requirementsCoordinating and monitoring inspections, audits, and testing to maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance recordsDeveloping and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentationSupporting risk assessments, safe working procedures, and participation in Health and Safety Committee activitiesManaging contractor documentation including permits to work, insurance certificates, method statements, and risk assessmentsOrganising reactive maintenance and repairs for HVAC, autoclaves, and other specialist systemsAssisting with contract renewals, asset tracking, and the transition to online systems such as CAFMPromoting a positive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement across the Estates TeamYou will have:NEBOSH - General Certificate in Health & Safety, or working towardsExperience in a similar role in a complex organisation meeting high quality outputsStrong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demandsExperience writing reports/ statements and maintaining accuracyEvidence of conformance to Health & Safety and Environment legislation relating to the built environment and statutory complianceDemonstrable experience in operational estate / maintenance management, with responsibility for ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining associated recordsKnowledge of relevant legislation including L8, HTMs, HBNs, COSHH, Asbestos, CDM Regulations, and ACOPsExperience of contractor supervision, management and monitoring(For a full list of essential and desirable criteria please refer to the job description and person specification)Application Process: To apply for the position please follow the apply link and upload your CV and covering letter.Due to the volume of applications, we receive, we may close our vacancies early.
