Join Our Team as a Complex Care Support Worker – Make a Real Difference!
We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a team leader to work alongside our client with complex needs in Thame, Oxfordshire.
Pay: £18.54 per hour
Hours: 28 per week over four days (08:30 – 15:30)
About the Role
You’ll be supporting a young boy of 10 who due to an acquired brain injury requires support with complex needs such as, left side weakness and visual impairment, mobility issues and mild speech difficulties. We're looking for someone with experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.
He lives at home with his family and their pets (two dogs and two cats) he enjoys football and anything football related, cricket, construction toys and cars and listening to music. Your role will be to support him physically and emotionally, helping him live life to the fullest and engage in his education.
What We’re Looking For
Due to the client's needs, we’re seeking a support worker with:
- A genuine passion for care and making a difference
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Reliable, committed, and flexible approach
- Experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience of supporting SEN students in a school environment.
You’ll need to be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the client and her family.
Key Responsibilities
As a support worker, you will:
- Assist with personalised routines, including use of hoists
- Support with daily living activities such as personal hygiene and mobility
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Maintain accurate care records and report any changes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members
