Crynodeb
The post holder will lead and oversee the work of the duty team ensuring a consistent, timely and appropriate response to cases where there is concern about a student’s mental, emotional or physical safety or where students may be impacting on the safety of others enacting appropriate university processes and policies where required. This includes, emotional or mental health crisis, acute mental illness, domestic abuse, students who are missing, and where there are child or adult statutory safeguarding concerns raised.
The post holder will lead the design of trauma-informed practical and emotional support for students who disclose sexual violence and/ or harassment, working closely with student caseworkers where there are reports of intra-community misconduct, ensuring that reporting and responding students have a point of contact and support throughout internal an investigation process.
The post holder will need to build collaborative and credible relationships across the university and Students Union, and with statutory services and third sector partners to ensure a safe, supportive and consistent approach to students experiencing a high level of distress or whose behavior is causing distress or harm to others.
The post holder will ensure data is captured in such a way that allows for effective and efficient case management, and that allows for trends in the nature of presenting concerns to be identified.
