We’re looking for an enthusiastic HGV Lecturer to join our dynamic Engineering team at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group! This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your industry knowledge and practical skills to learners eager to start their careers in the commercial vehicle and transport industry.
About the Role
As an HGV Lecturer, you’ll deliver engaging practical and theoretical sessions across a range of motor vehicle and heavy goods vehicle courses, ensuring every learner reaches their full potential. You’ll design innovative lesson plans, support individual learning needs, and help shape a curriculum that reflects current industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to learners aged 16–18 and adult learners.
Develop and manage individual learning plans to help students achieve their goals.
Use creative and engaging teaching methods to inspire and motivate learners.
Monitor and support learner progress, attendance, and achievement.
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the department.
Support college events, including open evenings and recruitment activities.
About You
Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant HGV discipline.
GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C / 9-4)* or equivalent.
Have industry experience in HGV maintenance, repair, or diagnostics and/or experience in an educational setting.
A PGCE or recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential – we can support you to achieve this.
