About The role

This role is 18.5 hours a week 0.5fte

TSC is dedicated to advancing dental technology education. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Dental Lecturer to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental technology, with extensive practical experience, particularly in Orthodontics and CAD/CAM, as well as a passion for teaching the next generation of dental professionals.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver both theoretical and practical lectures in various areas of dental technology
• Teach students in the areas of material science (basic and advanced), biosciences, and practical dental skills
• Conduct hands-on training in various aspects of dental technology, including Orthodontics and CAD/CAM
• Develop, review, and assess curriculum materials, ensuring they align with current industry standards and advancements
• Provide mentorship and academic support to students throughout their learning journey
• Engage in research activities to contribute to the ongoing development of dental education
• Ensure that teaching methods are innovative, effective, and in line with best practices in the dental field

Key Skills & Qualifications

• GDC Registration as a Dental Technician or Clinical Dental Technician is essential
• Proven experience as a practicing Dental Technician, ideally with expertise in all areas of dental technology, including Orthodontics
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems is required
• Prior experience in teaching or tutoring is highly desirable
• The ability to teach both practical skills and theoretical subjects related to dental technology
• Extensive knowledge of material science, advanced material science, and biosciences
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment

What we can offer you

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £31,181 - £38,421 per annum (this will be pro rata to the hours work) based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
