The Role
We are recruiting a Band 5 Technician (Plumber) to join an NHS Estates Maintenance team, delivering planned, reactive, and preventative mechanical and plumbing works across healthcare sites.
This role is critical to keeping clinical and non-clinical environments safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing and mechanical maintenance (planned and reactive)
Fault finding on hot & cold water systems, heating, gas and plant
Compliance with HTMs, Gas Safety Regulations, and NHS standards
Use of electronic job systems to log and close work orders
Water safety duties and Legionella control (where trained)
Escorting and supervising contractors
Participation in the on-call rota (additional payment applies)
Essential Requirements
Plumbing qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Proven experience in mechanical / plumbing maintenance
Strong Health & Safety awareness
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
NHS estates experience
Gas Safe registration
Water Safety / HTM competent person experience
IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
