Painter and Decorator – AFC Harrogate

Full Time position (40 hours) – £15 - £17 p/h (dependant on experience)

We’re looking for a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our maintenance team at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate. This is a great opportunity to work in a unique and rewarding environment, supporting both the main site and Family Forces Accommodation.

You\\'ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality painting, decorating, and minor maintenance works, primarily focused on scheduled lifecycle projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out internal and external painting and decorating, including surface prep, finishing, and small repairs
  • Working efficiently to complete planned projects to a high standard
  • Coordinating with the helpdesk and line manager to manage appointments and workload
  • Managing materials responsibly and maintaining stock levels
  • Collaborating with other trades to deliver a smooth, high-quality service
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with risk assessments and health & safety procedures

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in painting and decorating roles
  • High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively
  • Flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities

Desirable:

  • Experience working in military, housing or facilities management settings
  • Awareness of health & safety practices and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of estimating materials and time for jobs
