This is a crucial and exciting moment for The Whitstable School as we continue to expand our vocational qualifications and strengthen our Design Technology provision. Following the launch of our new Sixth Form pathway centered around Design Technology, alongside the successful introduction of our Construction course at Key Stage 4, we are now seeking a DT Technician to support the next phase of our development.
We are proud of our strong history of excellent results, high-quality craftsmanship, and truly creative student work. The successful candidate will play a key role in sustaining and extending this standard, working closely with a dedicated team of specialist teachers across our well-equipped DT rooms. As our A-level offer continues to grow and attract increasing numbers of students, this role will be central in helping us deliver an outstanding experience for every learner.
What We’re Looking For:
• A practical, organised, and skilled individual who can support teaching staff and students across a range of DT disciplines.
• Someone confident with workshop equipment, materials, preparation of resources, and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
• A team player eager to contribute to the creative energy of the department as we expand our post-16 offer.
Joining The Whitstable School means becoming part of a warm, collaborative community where every member of staff is valued. Our pastoral support is a true strength: students are known as individuals, and staff work together to create an environment where young people feel supported, challenged and able to thrive. We are proud to outperform all non-selective schools in the district, and our culture of high expectations, kindness and teamwork underpins this success.
If you are enthusiastic about helping young people develop practical skills, creativity, and confidence and want to be part of a school that is growing, ambitious, and full of community spirit, we would love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our school. In return, we offer a stimulating, supporting, and rewarding working environment, where all staff are valued and where you will have the opportunity to access a range of excellent professional opportunities to support your progression.
We understand the importance of work-life balance and will give due consideration to requests for flexible working.
We are proud to be an inclusive employer and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
Join us to benefit from:
● Local Government Pension Scheme – with a generous employer contribution
● Enhanced Maternity Pay
● Salary Sacrifice Shared Cost AVC (Additional Voluntary Contribution) Scheme
● Employee Referral Recruitment Incentive
