Summary

A Personal Assistant is required to support an eleven-year-old girl with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), who lives near Falmouth.

She is looking for someone with whom she can build a trusting relationship, and who can provide one-to-one support.

She enjoys playing outdoors and loves animals, beach and woodland walks, as well as bug hunts.

Duties will include supporting her in accessing activities in the local community during school term time and in the school holidays.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person in developing greater independence while making a meaningful difference in her life.

Rate of pay: Starting at £13.45 per hour, with potential for increase based on skills and experience.

Hours: An average of 6 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to allow for more hours during school holidays and fewer during term time.

Requirements: Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
