Summary

SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2

Alt Academy

35 Hours per week, 39.6 weeks per annum (term time plus eight days)

Grade 3 (p.6 - p.11) £25,989 - £28,142 (pro rota to hours worked) plus 8% SEN allowance

DevelopmentOpportunity

The Board of Trustees wishto providean opportunity for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work within the Northwest Hub.This post is initially deployed to Alt Academy however future deployment for this post may be in any of our Northwest academies.

Thesuccessfulcandidatewill have:

  • A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs

  • Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them

  • Experience of developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning

  • Awareness of child development and knowledge of how children learn

  • Experience ofworking with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school

  • Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers

  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience

  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework

  • Completion of Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (orto complete within first term)
