What is the job role?

The governors of Wyken Croft Primary School are excited to offer a permanent role as Dining Room Assistant. We have a successful and established lunchtime team that provides healthy, nutritious meals for all of the school's stakeholders. We are passionate about providing a positive lunchtime experience for all of our pupils. We are shortly to commence the OPAL scheme at the school so this is an exciting time to join.

You will need to;-

  • Be able to work closely with our catering team to ensure that our lunchtimes are
    a positive experience for our pupils.
  • Be able to work both in the dinner hall and outside on the playground
  • Be able to engage with our children, ensuring that our children adhere to the schools
    policies whilst providing a nurturing environment.
  • Be able to ensure our high standards of hygiene are maintained within the dining hall
    Whilst assisting pupils in all aspects of the lunchtime service.
  • Be able to assist in cleaning the dining hall at the end of the lunchtime session.

This role is 10 hours per week - term time only.

The successful candidate will need to;-

  • Be able to work professionally with all pupils and staff members to ensure a smooth and positive environment.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all of the stakeholders of the school.
  • Be able to work efficiently as part of a team.
  • Have an understanding of health and safety and personal hygiene.
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking
  • Be motivated and committed to supporting young people in their school environment

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.
