Roles & Responsibilities

The Class Teacher will hold primary responsibility for:

  • Strategic Planning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, challenging lessons informed by the Trust curriculum framework and national standards.

  • Data Accountability: Use the Academy's specific data tracking platform to analyse pupil performance, identifying and planning interventions for both underachieving and high-potential pupils.

  • Subject Leadership: Take ownership of a core or foundation subject (e.g., Maths, Reading, or Science), leading policy implementation and resource allocation across the primary phase.

  • CPD Engagement: Actively participate in, and potentially lead, Trust-wide Continuous Professional Development sessions and INSET days.

  • Resource Allocation: Manage and maintain the class budget for teaching and learning resources, ensuring materials are up-to-date and utilised effectively.

  • Staff Supervision: Provide clear, precise daily direction to the assigned Teaching Assistant, ensuring targets and expectations are met consistently.

  • Community Liaison: Engage positively with parents and carers through formal meetings and proactive communication to foster a strong home-school partnership aligned with the Academy's values.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and highly capable educator who meets:

  • Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.

  • Experience: Proven, successful teaching experience, ideally within Key Stage 2, demonstrating strong evidence of pupil progress.

  • Data Proficiency: High degree of competence in using data to drive pedagogy and report accurately on pupil outcomes.

  • Leadership Drive: Clear ambition and demonstrable skills for taking on and successfully managing subject leadership responsibilities.

  • Commitment: Full adherence to the Academy's policies on safeguarding, professional conduct, and continuous improvement.
