What will the Bookkeeper role involve?

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping across a varied client base, using leading cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
• Performing bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity
• Preparing and submitting timely VAT returns in compliance with regulations
• Assisting with payroll tasks where applicable, supporting wider finance functions
• Acting as a main point of contact for bookkeeping clients, managing communications professionally
• Supporting accountants with accounts preparation to meet deadlines
• Maintaining accurate and compliant financial records that underpin business success

Suitable Candidate for the Bookkeeper vacancy:

• Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy or finance practice environment
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles with meticulous attention to detail
• Hands-on experience with cloud accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• Confident in preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Highly organised with excellent time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines
• Effective communicator who builds strong client relationships and manages expectations
• AAT qualified or actively working towards qualification is desirable
• Payroll processing experience and ability to multitask across clients considered a plus
