Stay is a local charity dedicated to ending homelessness and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives. For over 30 years, we’ve provided supported housing and services to homeless and vulnerable people, assisting more than 1,000 individuals annually.

The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Dual Diagnosis Support Worker to deliver tailored support to individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance misuse challenges. You will provide evidence-based interventions, promote recovery, and help tenants develop independent living skills.
This role involves working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners to ensure holistic, personalised care that reduces crisis episodes and prevents homelessness.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver one-to-one and group interventions for tenants with dual diagnosis.
• Conduct holistic assessments and risk evaluations to identify needs and goals.
• Develop SMART, outcome-focused support plans addressing harm reduction, relapse prevention, and motivation.
• Encourage tenants to set personal goals and build resilience.
• Monitor wellbeing and respond proactively to prevent crises.
• Foster strong relationships with external agencies to improve access to specialist services.
• Apply Trauma-Informed and Psychologically Informed principles in all support activities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to KPI reporting and case studies.
About You
Experience & Knowledge:
• Significant experience supporting individuals with dual diagnosis and complex needs.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed practices.
• Knowledge of local mental health and addiction recovery services.
• Experience in housing or homelessness sectors.
Skills & Attributes:
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to engage hard-to-reach individuals and deliver choice-led outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
• Compassionate, discreet, and solution-focused approach.
