Location: Isle of Skye, Scotland (Accommodation Paid)
Rate: £23.63 per hour (CIS)
Rota: 11 days on, 3 days off
Start Date: February 2026
Duration: Long-Term Ongoing Contract (Expected 2-3 Years)
The Role:We are urgently recruiting an experienced and diligent Roller Operator to join the groundworks teams on a critical, long-term energy infrastructure project on the Isle of Skye. Your primary responsibility will be compacting fill material, sub-bases, and final surfaces for new site access roads and the concrete pad areas for the transmission tower bases.
This position requires a safety-conscious operator proficient in heavy compaction, working closely with dumper and finishing crews.
Key Responsibilities:-
Compaction: Operating heavy vibratory rollers (smooth drum and/or padfoot) for the compaction of granular materials and sub-bases to required densities.

Road & Pad Prep: Compacting access roads and the ground beneath structural concrete pads in line with engineering specifications.

Safety Protocol: Adhering strictly to rolling patterns and maintaining safe working distances from edges, slopes, and other plant.

Site Support: Working efficiently with the wider groundworks gang to ensure timely and effective use of the compaction window.

Valid CPCS or NPORS Roller ticket (required).

Valid CSCS Card (required).

Essential: Proven experience operating heavy rollers on large civil engineering sites, ideally involving road construction or rough terrain preparation.

Must be able to commit to the structured 11-on, 3-off rotation starting in February.
