Summary

Social & Emotional Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Bolton

FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2026 - STARTING IMMEDIATELY

Prospero Teaching is looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join one of our Secondary Schools in Bolton. You will be based in the on-site Alternative Provision which the school has, supporting young learners who are struggling with the demands of mainstream classes.

There is lots of training available for the successful position and our SLT run regular CPD for all staff. This role would be ideal for someone considering teacher training for September 2026. The role of a TA in The Hub is much more "all encompassing" and you will provide some academic support, some 1:1 mentoring, and some "crisis intervention" to support students who need intervention. This is a full time role and will run until July 2026. You will conduct some 1:1 sessions, and also support small groups with pre-planned activities. You will be supporting students aged 11 to 16 across subjects including Maths, English and Science.

Standards are high and the young people in the school are supported from day one with a uniform approach by teachers and support staff, and a calm, positive environment is noticed from the moment you enter the school.
