Summary

Our client, a respected educational institution in Southampton, Hampshire, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and support necessary to thrive in their academic journey.

As a key member of our client's educational team, the SEN Teaching Assistant will collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalised learning strategies tailored to each student's unique needs.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, adapting learning materials and activities to suit their individual requirements
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and record student progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with teachers and parents
- Encourage student participation in classroom activities, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere
- Support students in developing social skills and fostering positive relationships with their peers
- Attend and contribute to meetings and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs

Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting
- Relevant qualifications in education, special needs support, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students
- Proficiency in adapting learning materials and utilising assistive technologies when necessary
- Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic educational environment
