Summary of the role


The University of Exeter is seeking two Portfolio Support Officers (PSO) to join the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) as part of the Strategic Planning team. Recruitment will be run as a single initiative with two offers to be as soon as possible.


These roles strengthen the EPMO by ensuring portfolio activity is organised, monitored, and clearly communicated. They enable consistent oversight of change initiatives and contribute to informed decision-making across the organisation. The posts ensure information, governance processes, and performance data are accurate, timely, and accessible. They also maintain clear portfolio standards that allow projects and programmes to progress in a coordinated manner. Overall, the roles enhance visibility, control, and alignment of the portfolio with organisational priorities.

Finance, Infrastructure & Commercial Services (FICS) combines Finance and Procurement with Estate Services, Grounds and Campus Services to provide a high-quality staff and student experience and help develop sustainable Capital strategies for the University’s campuses.


The Strategic Planning team within FICS support strategic planning for senior management, faculties and professional services, providing high quality, relevant information to internal and external customers, and provide analytical briefs across a range of themes.


As part of Strategic Planning, The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office is charged with setting priorities, standards and goals for the University of Exeter's portfolio of projects which forms the basis of strategic investment planning.
