Glasgow North East Carers Centre provides services to unpaid family Carers who look after a family member or friend who cannot manage alone due to illness or disability, including Young Carers and their families. As a small, local charity, we have been providing supports and services to our community for over 30 years.
We are looking for a Finance and Administration Assistant to support the daily activities and service provision of our organisation. This is a varied and rewarding role, including maintaining record keeping within the organisation such as staff records, financial transactions, service provision, and also producing reports in relation to these records.
The successful candidate will often be the first point of contact for enquiries to the organisation, including via telephone, online and in person.
A good working knowledge of IT, including Office packages Word, Excel and Outlook is necessary, as is the ability to learn other bespoke programmes. Good communication skills, both written and verbal will allow the successful candidate to liaise with our service users and other professionals as necessary.
A firm understanding and appreciation of unpaid family Carers, their roles, contribution and value to our communities is essential.
Duties include: managing enquiries to the organisation, via telephone, online or in person,
Maintaining record keeping within the organisation, including staff records, financial transactions, service provision, and producing reports in relation to these records,
General administrative support to the organisation as a whole and it's staff
Contributing to the overall service provision and success of the organisation,
Essential attributes include:
Positive Attitude, Excellent organisational abilities with keen attention to detail, Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
35hrs per week, 20 day Annual Leave, and 13 days Public and employer specified holidays.
Initial contract for 15 months, thereafter subject to further funding.
