Summary
Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriage.
We are seeking to appoint for the following position:
Children and Young People Support Worker
Location: Swansea
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Starting Salary: £ 26,300 per annum pro rata
Fixed term contract up 31st March 2026 subject to funding
We do not offer sponsorship
Role:
To ensure that BAWSO provides a happy, safe and enjoyable experience for developing children and young people, ensuring a high quality of childcare at all times to meet the educational, social and cultural needs of individual children.
The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse and plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate play opportunities.
This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1)
Qualifications and knowledge:
NVQ 3 Certificate in Child care is essential.
Support work experience is desirable for this role
