Summary
Clinical *Contribute to the ongoing expansion and development of the stroke service. *Provide high-quality clinical care to stroke patients across the acute and rehabilitation pathways. *Join the weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting on the stroke unit, ensuring collaborative and patient-centred decision making. *Offer clinical leadership, supervision, and support to resident doctors on the stroke ward. *Deliver SpR-level care for inpatients within the stroke unit. *Participate in a weekly consultant-led TIA clinic. *Participate in the stroke middle-grade on-call rota at QEHB. *Contribute to specialty referrals and interdepartmental collaboration as required. Leadership and Governance *Demonstrate excellence in patient care and commitment to continuous service improvement. *Provide leadership to a team of resident doctors, overseeing care for inpatients on the stroke ward and associated areas. *Deputise with supervision for consultant colleagues as needed, including cover for planned leave and exceptional short-notice absences. *Actively contribute to departmental education, audit, and clinical governance meetings, supporting a culture of safety, learning, and improvement. Interpersonal and Communication Skills *Exhibit well-developed listening, communication, and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration within the multidisciplinary team and with patients and their families.
