Summary
We are looking for someone who can:
• Support children with their learning, both in the classroom and in small groups
• Work with children with additional needs, who find it challenging to access the curriculum
The successful candidate will be working to support children, across a year group, in their classrooms, and also delivering interventions to small groups of children. They will also be working closely with individual children to support their educational needs and achieve the outcomes set out in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
You must be patient and caring, and be a good team player. Previous experience of working with children with additional educational needs is desirable, but training and support will be available - applicants will need to use their initiative and adapt quickly and intuitively to the needs of the children as well as a have a willingness to learn and receive direction from others.
This post may be of particular interest to graduates considering a career in teaching and looking to gain experience.
Desirable Qualifications: -
❖ Particular interest and enthusiasm for working with children and supporting learning
❖ Experience of caring for or working with primary aged children
❖ Excellent literacy and numeracy skills: English & Maths GCSE, C or above
