The GPA maintains and operates a data warehouse that stores data from its various systems and allows the data to be re-used and integrated with other systems to support business processes via it’s data integration layer. The data also supports business and management information. The platform and integrations lead will support the Head of Business Information & Data to ensure the data platforms function effectively, are developed and maintained and supported by our data architecture lead.
Providing better integrated services is one of the areas the Chancellor referenced under the new Labour Government. The GPA is reliant on automated data transactions and seamless data operations which run in the background and underpin the efficient running of some of GPA’s core services.
The platform and integrations lead will ensure:
The integrity and security of the data in a central (cloud hosted) data warehouse environment
Oversee the design and integration of new data feeds into and out of the data warehouse
Oversee the maintenance of existing data feeds into and out of the data estate (data integration pipelines, data lake and data warehouse)
The reliability and operation of the data warehouse environment
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring that the GPA data warehouse operates in an efficient and reliable manner
Coordinating system improvements and changes, such as a new system integration through an agile development process
Managing the team of contractors delivering the underpinning architecture for the data warehouse
Leading on the creation and review of artefacts that form part of the Data Warehouse TDA process (Triage Requests, Business Requirements, High Level Design, Low Level Design)
Working with the Digital team to ensure data flows to/from GPA systems
